I remember seeing the Kruger Brothers for the first time on the Late Show with David Letterman when Jens received his award from Steve Martin. They were backed by the Kontras Quartet. After they played Jack of the Wood, I ordered two of their albums.

One day while listening, I was so moved by their fluid and emotionally evoking music, that I turned to my wife and said: “I could listen to this music for the rest of my life!”

Two things happened after that: I took up banjo and I recently took up cello (after seeing the amazingly talented and lovely Jean Hatmaker perform in the backing Kontras Quartet). I don’t know which instrument I love more, but one thing is clear: listening to the Kruger Brothers is life changing.
